Dr. Adil Dhalla, Managing Director, START Centre, NTUitive, and Chief Operating Officer, NEWRI, NTU Singapore visited the WEFTEC Now Studio to discuss membrane technologies and surrounding business practices. Dhalla also shared his views on how and why Singapore has developed a diverse portfolio of water resources.
Interviewed by WEF's Travis Loop, Dhalla explained how Singapore has taken steps to capture rainwater for use as well as reclaim its wastewater to standards "beyond drinking water quality." This purified water is first used in industries such as microelectronics that require high-purity water. The island nation also imports waters from neighboring Malaysia.
