Equipment manufacturers will showcase the newest technologies in wastewater treatment during this afternoon’s Session 220, Manufacturers’ Innovative Technology Forum: Wastewater Treatment Advances – From Start to Finish.
This forum at WEFTEC presents technologies that are in the early adoption phase, but not yet well known. The goal is to help jumpstart them and shorten the time it takes to move them into the mainstream. This approach benefits both the wastewater community in learning about the technologies and the equipment manufacturers who have significant investment in technology development.
Moderated by Sergio Pino-Jelcic of Evoqua Water Technologies and John David Dyson of Aqua Aerobic Systems Inc., the forum will feature technical details on two novel means of primary treatment, two technologies for nutrient removal, and one method for enhanced biosolids treatment. Each presentation will discuss the market need that drove the innovation, its unique features, the benefit to the user, and the validation that has occurred in pilot- or full-scale application.
Each technology presented has completed thorough research and development, established full-scale engineering requirements, and has acquired (at least) rigorous piloting data for presentation. But, each technology must have five or fewer full-scale installations.
Organizers indicated the goal of the session is to introduce attendees to the newest, most innovative wastewater technologies entering the market and that are now "ready for prime time.”
