2021 CEU Information

WEF works to obtain CE Credit approval on a national level for your WEFTEC participation. In most cases, the credits issued by WEF can be converted to meet state-specific requirements that vary from the system used by WEF. For example, both CEU and PDH credits are available for Workshops to Professional Engineers licensed in most states, including the NYSED in New York.

WEFTEC participation is tracked using badges provided during registration or onsite pickup. Be sure to scan your badge for credits when entering and exiting each session or workshop to obtain credits toward P.E. and Professional Operator licenses. CE Credit documentation will be made available electronically using the link posted above. Participants will be able to access credits quickly and efficiently starting on the first full day of the in-person workshops/sessions.

At WEFTEC 2021 attendees earned up to:

  • 15 Technical Session PDHs
  • 1.9 Workshop CEUs
  • 8.0 Daily General Contact Hours

WEF uses a system of credit assignments that is widely accepted by state engineering and operator licensing boards. State CE requirements may vary. Some licensing boards will accept CEUs for session under 3 hours in length. Others use different acronyms in place of the CEU. In most instances the credits issued by WEF can be converted to meet state specific requirements that differ from the system used by WEF. This is usually managed at the state level using the following conversion method:

1.0 CEU = 10 Hours of session time

1.0 PDH = 1 Hour of session time

1.0 GCH = 1 Hour of contact time

Learn from the brightest and most innovative minds through WEFTEC’s world-class educational program, delivering everything there is to know about water quality to you through a variety of learning styles.

  • Workshops — dive into in-depth learning, in a classroom setting, designed to teach you practical skills, techniques, and concepts that you can directly apply to your work.
  • Technical Sessions — learn from water quality experts, in a variety of unique session formats, selected through a highly rigorous abstract review process.
  • Learning Exchanges — share your expertise and perspectives about trending themes, technologies, and topics in the water sector with a small peer group (roundtables up to six people).
  • Main Stage — explore the most important and timely water sector and professional development topics.
  • Technology Spotlights (formerly called Mobile Sessions) — learn from curated groups of companies sharing their premier product and service solutions for your current challenges.
  • Company Demonstrations — engage with individual exhibitors as they show their latest technology and equipment.

The WEFTEC Program Committee intentionally designed this year’s sessions to actively engage you with speakers, content, and other participants. You will learn not only by listening but also by sharing your experience and perspectives, positioning yourself as a thought leader and growing your professional network.

Sessions are primarily interactive with nearly two-thirds including audience participation: learning exchanges, facilitated discussions, participant conversations, panel discussions, the ever-popular knowledge development forums, as well as several unique formats created to address a specific topic.

The remaining sessions are traditional — a speaker sharing slides in a college lecture format. Speakers may add real-time polls to their presentation to directly involve you.

All programming occurs at McCormick Place unless otherwise indicated.
